Returning to Mr Kipling for a moment, I doubt that he was suffering from the affliction you refer to, I have freqently been a victim of that myself and have never seen flying fish playing in the road. I suspect he was 'chasing the dragon' which was a popular Victorian pursuit in those parts. May be there is something a bit special about his cakes after all.
